The Element Podcast
The Element Podcast is HPE’s podcast about cutting-edge tech.
When HPE underwent a rebrand in 2019, all their products needed a fresh new look. I collaborated with my HPE creative partner Rebecca Price to develop the new branding for the Element Podcast. The challenge was to create something that was both unique enough to stand out as it’s own content channel, while also feeling right at home within the main HPE brand.
Logo Treatment
We landed on a vibrant neon style with quick, high energy animations. The logo is grounded in HPE’s signature green, and we pull from the rest of their colorful spectrum for other elements.
Since podcasts are an audio-first medium, we wanted to ensure that there was a distinct soundscape as well. I created a sound treatment by mixing electrical fx, risers, and bells to evoke the podcast’s topics of cutting-edge tech and thought leadership.
This sound treatment is used as an intro stinger for podcast episodes and in promo material.

Neon Soundwaves
One of the central motifs of the Element Podcast branding is the neon soundwaves. These glowing lines twist through 3D space, creating striking patterns and drawing the eye in.
I designed these soundwaves using 3D particle systems, which allowed us to create unlimited variations of the waves, and create custom animations driven by audio.

Episode Trailers
To promote podcast episodes, we created animated trailers using audio experts from the show.
For each animation, we were given the audio clip and from there we broke it down, designing text lockups, characters, and graphics for each segment. This gave us an opportunity to expand the branding and figure out how different types of imagery would fit into this style.
