Exascale Day

National Exascale Day is celebrated on October 18 to recognize the scientists in the field of supercomputing who advance medicine, materials sciences, energy and more. In 2020 and 2021, we led a social campaign for HPE to celebrate Exascale Day and build excitement around the possibilities of exascale computing.

Exascale Hero Video 2020

Exascale is celebrated on 10/18, referring to the one quintillion (1018) calculations that an exascale computer can compute in one second.

Our team developed this hero video to build excitement and explain the significance of exascale computing.

The Power of 18 Zeros

1018 is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000. That’s a lot of zeros.

To explore the significance, we designed a series of Zeros, each representing an industry that will be revolutionized by exascale computing.

Exascale Explainer 2020

We made several pieces of explainer content, outlining different ways to understand the massive scale of exascale.

Influencer Content

In addition to the branded content for HPE social channels, we created unbranded content for tech influencers.

In these animations, we were inspired by retro futurism and sythwave aesthetics to evoke the feeling of a time when the possibilities of computing seemed limitless. I had a lot of fun dialing in the look using post-processing like chromatic aberration, lens distortion, and glitch effects.
